A bit of a squeeze into the old, steam locomotive shops of the former Ann Arbor Railroad in Owosso. Even so, the Pere Marquette 1225 had safely arrived at her new home in 1983 under the care of the Michigan State Trust for Railway Preservation Inc. Formed in 1979 by the Michigan State University Railroad Club, the nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization was dedicated to finishing and operating their donated locomotive. Nearly 15 years of restoration, rebranding and relocating, it was time to get the job done.
