General Motors Aerotrain, which today was moved
We invite you to come check out our General Motors Aerotrain, which today was moved out from the McCormick Pavilion and is temporarily on display outside under sunny skies here at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Only three of these futuristic-looking Aerotrains were built in 1955, and they retired from service in 1966 – at which time one was donated to the National Railroad Museum. Only one other Aerotrain exists (the third one was scrapped). The Museum’s Aerotrain likely will return to the pavilion early next week – it is very rare to see the Aerotrain outside the pavilion over the past several years. We also will share photos of the Aerotrain this weekend on Facebook and Instagram. Another great reason to visit us — daily train rides resume on Saturday (April 30); they leave the depot at 10 a.m. (except Sundays), 12 noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The National Railroad Museum is your ticket to railroad history and fun!
