Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program
The Flushing Area Historical Society (FAHS), in partnership with the City of Flushing and Flushing Parks & Recreation, proudly honors Flushing-area veterans and first responders through the Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program.

Personalized banners recognizing these local heroes are displayed throughout the City of Flushing from Memorial Day through late fall (near Veterans Day), weather permitting. Banner space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to Participate

2. Submit Payment via PayPal (Credit Card, PayPal and Venmo)
Single-Sided Banner – $60.00
Double-Sided Banner – $120.00
Double‑Sided Supporter Banner – $250.00
The Double‑Sided Supporter Banner includes a double‑sided banner and an additional contribution to help offset program costs and support the continuation of the Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program.
Payment is made using the PayPal “Donate” button on this page as a one‑time payment. Additional contributions are welcome to help support the program, as banners are provided at cost.
⚠️ Important: When paying via PayPal, please enter the honoree’s full name in the PayPal note/message field. This is required so FAHS can match your payment to your application.
3. Email Your Application & Materials
Email the completed application and required materials to:

Required materials:
- Completed application
- High-quality photo of the honoree (digital preferred)
- Signed photo release
- Verification of service (military photo acceptable)
- PayPal payment submitted
Deadline
All applications, materials, and payment must be received by May 1st, 2026, or when all banner spaces are filled.
Program Notes
- Banners are produced specifically for this program and will not be returned
- FAHS is not responsible for weather-related damage or theft
- No refunds once banner production has begun
