Help Keep the Depot Alive
The Historic Train Depot Museum is entirely volunteer‑run.
Everything visitors experience — the stories, the open doors, the preserved building — happens because community members give a little of their time.
You don’t need to be a historian.
You don’t need railroad experience.
You just need an interest in local history and a friendly attitude.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers help in many simple and meaningful ways, including:
- Greeting visitors and sharing stories
- Keeping the depot open during public hours
- Assisting with events and open houses
- Helping care for displays and artifacts
- Sharing the museum with friends and neighbors
Some volunteers come weekly.
Others help just a few times a year.
Every contribution matters.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering at the depot means:
- Preserving a real historic building
- Connecting with your community
- Sharing stories that might otherwise be forgotten
- Being part of a friendly, welcoming group
- Knowing you’re helping protect local history for future generations
Many of our volunteers say they learn something new every time they serve.
