Discover Mrs. Lincoln’s early years
Thursday, August 4 7:00 pm
Discover Mrs. Lincoln’s early years; childhood, courtship, marriage; though fascinating storyteller Pam Dawson.
Mrs. President Abraham Lincoln will be visiting the Hadley Township Historical Society on August 4th to tell about her “Early Years”. Discover her years from childhood, courtship, marriage, children, and politics leading to Lincoln’s presidential election. Mrs. President Lincoln was one of the most controversial “First Ladies” who did so many wrong things in her society, so well.
The program will be presented by Pam Dawson, a storyteller from Milford Michigan, who fascinates audiences by making history come alive. Ms. Dawson hopes to inspire individuals to research more about the Lincoln family and the Civil War as she believes that history teaches us a lesson for today.
Vernor’s ice cream floats will be served! Come and meet your neighbors over an ice cream float.
Location is the Hadley Township Office Board Room @ 4293 Pratt Road, Hadley, MI. Doors open at 6:30; program is from 7:00 to about 8:30pm. Open to all ages including children. No admission fee. Donations appreciated. This is the first of the Hadley Township Historical Society 2022 evening programs. Mrs. Abraham Lincoln will return to tell us about her “White House Years” on Thursday, October 6.
