On May 13, 1712, Fort Pontchartrain at Detroit was attacked by forces from three native tribes. Du Buisson, who had recently replaced Cadillac as commander in Detroit, led a successful defense of the fort. Today, the fort’s location is identified with a historical marker on W. Larned St., between Washington Blvd. and Shelby.
