Remus Area Historical Society receives grant in support of history project
REMUS — Receiving a $2,000 grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation on Monday, the Remus Area Historical Society will be able to continue to strengthen community development through its Oral History project.
“We are happy to partner with local businesses and Consumers Energy on this historical project that will have high visibility for the public,” Remus Area Historical Society president Linda Howard said. According to a news release, the Oral History project began years ago and was spearheaded by the late Don Hatfield, whose family has been in the Remus area for over 135 years.
